Today a really long time friend and I were discussing the true power of social media and how it will just change the face of marketing for ever. So today I want to cover some really key points that will help you successfully build an online profile and then take that profile and develop a strategy that will over time build a powerhouse of traffic and leads.
BUILDING YOUR ONLINE MARKETING PROFILE
You want to google yourself! That’s right your going to go to goole.com enter your name and see what comes up. If you have never done this it may be a revelation to see what is online about you. Did you know that currently 63% of employers will google your name before they even call you for an interview. If you have a facebook page you can pretty well garuanttee that your facebook profile is the first to come up, if you own a business like a restaurant you will see that your google search will offer a review of your restaurant or business first, if you offer a product online then people with check to see if you are a scam or will want to see a review of the product or service before they buy. So your very first step is to make sure that your profile online is consistent with the image, product and service you wish to promote.
This may take some time as you may need to remove content, posts, images that are not inline with the persona you want to put out there. Understanding and daily action at building your online marketing profile is essential in building trust. If you have any social media accounts that are not inline with where you want to be then it may be time to look at setting up new accounts
The internet used to be anonymos but not anymore, in a few clicks of the mouse I can find out more about a person, product or service than in anytime ever in the past.
