Traffic Strategies
Lesson #2 Announcement
I sat in on a conference call with a person that our company has brough it to help us in developing traffic strategies for our company and niche. This person has been in the business of seo, traffic and traffic strategies for over 20 years now.
It was an interesting conversation and it showed me how closed minded we can become when we have done something for a while and our way seems to be the only way.
My goal with this blog is to create revenue streams that will earn me $4000 a month & that I would try to do this in 159 days. The revenue streams would come from the follow activeties and sources.
- affiliate sales
- Sponsorship and ad spaces
- building a network marketing business
I didn’t restrict my self to one or the other because I wanted to see which one would perform better (I keep a running list of achievements in my business milestones)
I also knew that in order for me to become really good at this I would need to be constantly learning and upgrading my skills and knowledge in anything in this field.
Everyday I make it a point to read something on the topic (since the blog has gone live I have read over 200 articles and books, and have downloaded 3 key courses on current ways of marketing and gaining traffic strategies online.)
I make it a point to really stay open and you see I am lucky…I have remain open and teachable, I have to constantly test what works and what doesn’t.
I then get to put the results of those efforts on my website and share with the readers of my blog.
You see I have also been very lucky and built 2 brick and mortar businesses and I know now that you need just as much drive and mental fortitude to set up a business online and you would setting one up the traditional way.
The other day I am downtown visiting a friend and we run into one of my connections (he is an accountant) his name is Sydney and honestly Sydney has been a business contact of mine for over 10 years. Up till that point I thought that my online business and offline businesses were 2 separate things and I came to the realization that they are not.
You see there are many Sidneys in the world, he heads off to his office everyday they provide a valuable service to their clients and the business they have built they have work very hard for. I thought there had to be some way that I could help people like Sydney in developing traffic strategies that would work for them and would be easy to do for one man shows.
So I am going to share my ideas for my friend Sydney and the many others like him that havn’t yet made the move online or if they have don’t really know how to take what they have and create traffic strategies that will work for them.
Traffic Strategies Lesson
#2 Social Media
Create your Twitter account. Now, I can hear from alot of my friends in the mainstream business market say what impact will have this have on my business. The answer is simple in the month that I have set up the account for SEO Blog Guy I have over 550 followers and from the twitter account I get 280 monthly unique page views to my blog (what would you give to have an extra 50, 100 or 200 eyeballs on your product or service webpage
The second component is that I have built some great relationships on Twitter that have led to conversations related to our niche that has step past the boundries of Twitter.
Traffic Strategies
Here is my twitter lesson for my friend Sydney and the many others like him.
- You see Sydney is a great accountant with many skills and he some some great ideas for some business modules that he has been working on. Now twitter would allow him to connect on a more local level with other in the same field and perhaps test out some of his thoughts with some of his peers over coffee or lunch. You see you just moved from the land of online to the land of 2 or 3 persons having coffee because they were intrigued by what Sydey is working on. This is the basis of one of the biggest of your traffic strategies that tells you that you need to blend your online and offline contacts, by giving them a business card, getting them to like you on your facebook page and getting them to visit your website.
- Syndey stays active on twitter by linking his facebook posts to his twitter account this allow sidney to keep everyone in the loop as to what is going on in sydneys world.
- As time progress and Sydney`s twitter account grows the people that are following the contacts on other accounts start to take notice of sydney and move from prospect to warm market prospect as a service that sidney provides meets the need of this contact. You see I now ask where people heard about me and 50% of the time it is through a contact in twitter.
- Lets say you own a spa or are a hairdresser. You could use twitter as a lead in to a meet and greet in your shop. Pick a day offer some eats (could even be arranged by one of your contacts) and offer a sensual after get away for your twitter friends.
- Just like anything else in life you need to use it for it to give up its results…you see it was designed that way, its hard to get followers if you don`t do anything to get followed.
