One thing a local business owner can do to establish himself as an expert in his field is to create and “syndicate” articles online. What you’re reading now is article that I created and posted. You can do the same thing in your field. There are a few things that you must consider when creating your article so as to get the most “bang for the buck”. In this article I will be explaining the basics of article marketing for local business.
When people search for a product or service online they type in certain words to describe what they want. These are known as “keywords” or “key phrases”. Your first job when you set out to attract visitors using articles is to determine what keywords they will use when they want to hire you. For purposes of this article, I will assume that you have already done that.
Once you determine which key phrases your customers use, you should create one article that addresses each key phrase. For example, if you are a dentist, and you have determined that one of the phrases your prospects will use is “what is the best tooth brush?” You could write an article discussing different types of toothbrushes and telling which is the best one. At the end of the article you will have what is called a “resource box”. There you will talk about yourself, put in a link to your website, and offer something of value to your visitors if they visit your website. In this case, it would be good to offer an e-book about dental hygiene, because that is what they appear to be interested in. The link to your website should go to the page where the article was posted, not to your homepage.
